Who we are.

Tatu Odysseys is a charitable travel community in Uganda dedicated to transforming lives through purposeful journeys. We believe that tourism should do more than create memories, it should also strengthen communities, protect nature, and bring hope to vulnerable families. Since our founding, we’ve combined sustainable tourism in Uganda with community development projects, creating a powerful movement of travelers who give back.

Tatu Odysseys Means Three Journeys

According to NPHC 2024, 7.9 million (16.1%) Ugandans cannot afford the basic needs for survival such as food, water, shelter and healthcare. That is where Tatu charity comes in as a charitable travel community to give a hand to the less privileged and also to support Tatu’s programs. Learn more about our Charity.

Our Programs: Making a Difference As A Charitable Travel Community

Livelihood Program in Uganda

As a charitable travel community, we believe true transformation starts with empowered individuals. Since May 2025, we’ve supported over 500 vulnerable people in Uganda’s tourism host communities with food, home items, and care. Through the Tatu Maisha Project (TMP), we aim to uplift 2,000 families yearly with skills, health, SACCOS financing, and sustainable livelihoods.

Education Program in Uganda

Tatu Odysseys Initiative, through the TADUCATE Program, has supported over 210 learners with scholastics and 30 with school fees in Uganda’s tourism host communities since May 2025. We plan mentorship, life-skills, and school infrastructure projects, aiming yearly to reach 10,000 pupils, sponsor 300 learners, and improve education through facilities and a teachers’ SACCO.

Environment Program

Tatu Odysseys Initiative believes Uganda’s natural landscape is a heritage to protect, not just admire. Through reforestation, eco-education, and clean-up campaigns, we partner with tourism host communities to plant indigenous trees, promote sustainable waste management, and fight climate change. By 2026, we aim to plant 100,000 trees and involve 100 communities.

Tourism Program in Uganda

Through Pride in the Pearl project, Tatu will promote Uganda's tourism by inspiring domestic travel, publishing textbooks for schools, and launching a global magazine in seven languages. Through cultural trips, community engagement, and worldwide marketing campaigns, it will showcase Uganda’s wildlife, attractions, and heritage, boosting national pride and positioning the Pearl of Africa internationally.
